Mrs. Dawn Marie Lewallen
I have been an educator for over 23 years: the first fourteen as an English/Reading teacher and the remaining time as a school librarian. I love, love, LOVE reading ... completely addicted to the written word (nice trait for a librarian, huh?); enjoy nature photography; have fun interacting with historical places via traveling; and LOVE reading ... oh, I already said that, didn't I. :)
My husband of 24 years and I have an amazing middle-school aged daughter and our house is crowded with two dogs AND two cats. Our daughter has asked for more pets ranging from a bunny to a hamster to a sugar glider and the answer she receives is ALWAYS a huge NOPE! LOL.
I graduated from the University of Southern Colorado (now known as Colorado State University of Pueblo) with a Bachelor of Arts in English; Lesley University with a Master of Education; and Wayne State University with a Master of Library and Information Science.
I have a passion for figuring out creative activities to tie books and learning together and am always up for doing weird things (such as dressing up in costumes and eating bugs; although, they were chocolate covered) to promote reading.
